Amethyst House offers in-person Reiki certification in San Jose, taught by Elizabeth Black (Reiki Master Teacher, RMA/ICRT affiliate, 15+ years’ experience). We teach Usui Reiki Ryoho and Holy Fire III® Reiki Ryoho in small, mentorship-driven classes — private or semi-private — rather than the weekend-retreat model used by most schools.

Who this is for: Healthcare workers, therapists, yoga teachers, energy workers, and anyone called to develop their own healing practice. Prerequisites: none for Degree I & II.

Why train with us (vs. weekend retreats or online programs):

  • Small student-to-teacher ratio (1–4 students)

  • Real, in-person attunements and supervised session practice

  • Lifetime mentorship — alumni keep training in the Reiki Circle for free

  • Optional intern hours at the studio after certification

  • Flexible scheduling — classes booked around your work life

  • RMA/ICRT affiliate program (the gold standard in Reiki credentialing)

Serving: San Jose, Willow Glen, Cambrian Park, Campbell, Los Gatos, Santa Clara, and the greater Bay Area.

Reiki FAQ

  • Many Reiki programs are taught in large groups of 20+ students at weekend long retreats, sometimes by Masters who live far from their students. Other programs are taught online and while more cost effective, do not allow students a chance to practice giving a session with a person and/or with a Master present. Additionally, it is rare for programs to provide long term mentorship or support to their students.

At Amethyst House we're thinking differently about training Reiki Masters and Practitioners. We are committed to providing time and mentorship for our students and providing a place for our students to practice long term.

When students finish the training program at Amethyst House they join the Amethyst House Reiki Circle which is a free practitioner development circle and Reiki swap. Practitioners can keep their energy clear and ready to work for no extra cost and also come together to share techniques, ask questions and more. Few if any other programs in the area are offering this.

Additionally, Amethyst House extends program alumni other benefits including the opportunity to do intern hours, discounts on services, events and shopping, to name a few.

  • Amethyst House Reiki Training has many benefits that are not included in other programs:

    1. Small student to teacher ratio

    2. In person instruction

    3. Continued mentorship for alumni

    4. An option to do intern hours on site

    5. Class days and times tailored to your schedule

    6. RMA/ICRT affiliation

    7. FREE membership in a practitioners only Reiki Circle so you can keep your own system tip top for no additional cost

    8. Alumni receive benefits and perks if shopping or receiving services in the future

    9. Alumni have a continued Reiki Community from which to learn and grow

What our students are saying…

“I had always been interested in Reiki, so I decided to take Reiki I & II at Amethyst House. Elizabeth is such a wonderful teacher, and always made sure each of her students felt at ease. I look forward to taking additional classes as I embark on my spiritual journey at the Amethyst House.”

“I decided to try Reiki at the suggestion of a friend because I seemed to have an innate ability to heal. It was a tough decision for me though because I am a scientifically minded person and I wasn’t sure it was for me.

Eventually I decided on Amethyst House and it turned out not only is this a very professionally run establishment but the staff are gifted and knowledgeable as well - the perfect combination of a spiritual and scientific. They were able to answer my questions with ease. I was impressed.
